The Greens: Lindall Watson

The Greens: Lindall Watson

For at least the last 30 years my husband and I have travelled to the beautiful Northern Rivers to visit family, revitalising childhood memories and giving our children an opportunity to glimpse the delights of this region. COVID came, we reconsidered our Sydney lives and now joyously embrace the hills surrounding Nimbin as our home. But fires, floods and the subsequent and ongoing hardship have driven me to step up as Greens local council candidate to participate in the future climate preparation for our towns and unique villages.

I am keen and curious to develop my understanding of the forces that glue together the rich social tapestry of our diverse community. I believe this understanding is furthered by listening to diverse viewpoints and helping on a very personal level.

If elected to council, this will be a high priority of mine, and I will promote a fair and equitable governance for all.

My career in education has prepared me to work alongside those from various backgrounds with differing views and opinions. I always try to encourage a just and collegial dialogue particularly when seeking solutions to difficult and sticky problems. I am a practical advocate who has endeavoured as a teacher and educational leader to advance straight forward access to all the resources young people need to live happy, fruitful and fulfilling lives. I look forward to continuing this pursuit as a Lismore councillor.

The residents of the Lismore region treasure its rich and varied heritage which includes the honouring and recognition of First Nations languages, culture and histories that are embedded deep into this exquisite environment. I am so grateful to live here.
