Educating Rita was the opening stage play for the upcoming theatre season. It has been postponed and new dates advised once the coronavirus threat has been lifted.

Publicity Officer Jenny Dowell has said, "Following an urgent committee meeting last night, Lismore Theatre Company has made the difficult decision to postpone Educating Rita at Rochdale Theatre until this current medical situation has passed.

As you can imagine, we are very disappointed but we believe we must listen to advice from medical professionals, care about others and limit everyone’s exposure to potential risk. 

We assure audiences that Educating Rita will still be our first show of 2020- it will just be a little later than we’d planned. We will announce new dates as soon as possible.

We appreciate the ongoing support we receive from our community and look forward to your continued patronage in safer times.

On a lighter note in this very difficult time, we can assure everyone that the only Corona in our theatre is in the fridge and we have plenty of toilet paper.
