About Adam

I have lived in Lismore since 1999 and for the last 10 years, on the North Lismore floodplain, farming and regenerating the landscape. I was personally impacted by the 2022 floods and have since been fighting for a socially just, fair and community-led recovery.

I moved to Lismore in order to study Politics, Law and Teaching at Southern Cross University before working at Trinity Catholic College in Lismore for a number of years.

Prior to taking leave, I worked for NSW Health as a Health Promotion Officer, where I worked with councils to implement healthy urban design principles in order to support communities to be happy and healthy.

I've served on Lismore City Council since 2016 and during this time have been a champion for financial responsibility and good governance, planning reform and protecting our precious environment.

Prior to council, I was part of the campaign against coal seam gas mining which saw the community victorious against this toxic industry. During this time, I was a Lock the Gate Regional Coordinator in the Gasfield Free campaign and later worked for Greens MP Jeremy Buckingham who was instrumental in seeing coal seam gas licences cancelled across the Northern Rivers.

I was the Greens candidate for Lismore in the 2015 State Election where I nearly won the seat from the incumbent National Party member. I love our region and am determined to see that it gets the representation and resources it needs to thrive.

Our key policies we are taking to the election are:

●     A home for all: Broaden the availability of buyback, land swaps and house relocation schemes, build new and durable public, social and affordable housing across our region, and secure suitable land for housing out of the flood zone.

●     Water security: Our region needs smart water solutions like water recycling & residential efficiency measures – not mega dams that damage our environment and First Nations heritage.

●     Climate action now: Stop coal and gas through a comprehensive transition to a net zero future, and invest in renewable technologies and clean jobs.

●     Support our public sector: Implement patient-staff ratios in health and aged care. Strengthen our education and transport systems.

●     Make the polluters pay: Introduce a Climate Disaster Levy on coal exports to raise $7 billion per year towards a Climate Recovery and Transformation Fund, which will prioritise climate-disaster impacted communities like Lismore and the region.

●     Bringing Transparency and Fairness to Parliament: Ban corporate political donations, tax the billionaires and corporations their fair share and protect our democracy by restoring the right to protest and repealing draconian anti-protest laws.
