LeMa
LeMa formed out of an interest in and passion for Manouche-style jazz. Undeniably, the group pay tribute to the music of Django Reinhardt and the virtuosic Parisian guitarist Romane.
Recently, getting together on regular Monday mornings, Leo Glass (guitar), Mat Lydon (violin) and Neil McCann (guitar) have been starting the week in celebration of the music, the myth and cups of tea. Joining the trio at the Lismore Jazz Club will be the very much respected Mark Bromley (upright bass), who is no stranger to the genre.
LeMa will be performing a list of Manouche style classics, as well as some not so frequently heard melodies. Enjoy!

Northern Rivers Conservatorium Youth Jazz Orchestra
Established in 2010, the Northern Rivers Conservatorium Youth Jazz Orchestra (YJO) is the leading pre-professional big band in the Northern Rivers for musicians aged 13-24. Directed by Nic Campbell, who trained with Cristina Leonard at the Sydney Conservatorium, YJO boasts a full complement of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, piano, bass, and guitar. The orchestra excels in jazz, funk, soul, blues, and fusion, and relishes the challenge of mastering complex charts by Gordon Goodwin, Tower of Power, Glenn Miller, and Duke Ellington.
YJO frequently performs locally and has collaborated with jazz legends like James Morrison and Paul Grabowsky. Alumni have advanced their studies at top institutions, including Monash University and Griffith University, and new members are always welcome.
